Goodnight Dannii by Drew Danburry

Drew Danburry is getting ready to release a new album called Goodnight Dannii. It is going to be a nighttime story book, and I was fortunate to be the illustrator for the book. Here are the pictures.

The cd will be released May 1 at Velour in Provo, and May 14 at Kilby Court in Salt Lake City.

Stadium Rock

I've been sewing for days straight, to get ready to open a store, but mainly because it's what I like to do. And while I sew for six hours at a time, or more quite often, I like to listen to what my dearest Drew Danburry has defined as Stadium Rock - guitar solos, love lyrics that seem violent, and loads of drums. Basically, music that belongs in a stadium.
Journey, Heart, Scorpions, Foreigner, Bon Jovi, The Eagles, The Police...man, can those guys write good songs or what?

Dress design for Shabby Apple Dresses:

This design is very delicate and feminine. I would recommend light weight polyester, silk, or chiffon. The petal-like adornments at the neck would look great in any bright springtime color; coral, chartreuse, or light teal.

This dress was inspired by one of my favorite childhood movies, "Wild Hearts Can't be Broken." The heroine of the movie wears a light blue dress with an extravagant neckline when she's trying to impress a boy. I've always wanted a dress like hers. So, I designed it, and made it.

How To Replace a Broken Zipper In Jeans

For the easiest procedure, use the heaviest needle your machine can take.

One:

Remove the old zipper and unpick the top stitching from the fly.

A seam ripper works decently, but a razor blade is much faster. If the zipper is sewn in heavily at the bottom, rather than unpicking everything, just slice the zipper out.

Two:

Beginning on the left side of the jean, sew the zipper into place, being sure to tuck the top of the zipper inside the waistband.

Three:

Sew the right side of the zipper to the fly.

Two rows of stitching is the most secure, you may need to use a zipper foot to stitch the second line.

Four:

Top stitch the fly back into place, just to the bottom of the curve.

Five:

Finish top stitching the bottom of the curve sewing through all layers of fabric.

Sew very slowly to prevent breaking the needle.

Six:

Trim the zipper if necessary

Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken

Lately, I've been thinking about one of my favorite movies from my childhood which is Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken. There is a really great scene when the heroine comes to dinner dressed up to impress a boy and an older woman mocks her for her efforts. I've always been so meserized by the dress she wears, and so I decided to make one. It's not the exact dress, but it's a version of how I remembered it. I wore it to my parents house today, and my dad Scott smiled and complimented the potato chips on my dress.

Bathing Suit

I needed a new bathing suit for the summer, and here it is. The best part is that it never needs to be adjusted, because it covers everything that needs to be covered. There's nothing better than a bathing suit that fits you perfectly.

Also, if you need some good summer fun, I would reccomend a marathon of The Fast and The Furious, specifically 2Fast 2Furious. Even if you're not particularly interested in good movies, you'll be grateful that Paul Walker is your bro.
